we were supposed to go camping

so this past weekend was supposed to be spent at the san clemente campground (which i grew up camping at and was so looking forward to going back!). but unfortunately, that didn't happen. someone accidentally booked a handicap-only site, and well, none of us are handicapped so we weren't allowed to stay there. at least we realized this a few days before we were supposed to go to the site (thanks mom for asking what site we were on! otherwise, i probably would have killed someone haha). all of us girls still hung out that saturday and we actually went and had tea instead. from camping to a tea party. what opposites!

the place we went to is called seventh tea bar and is located in costa mesa (right next to portola coffee lab!). i had seen seventh tea bar a few weeks ago and had wanted to go so i was happy the girls wanted to go there. the place is rad! and the workers are super friendly and extremely helpful. i mean, we were pretty annoying because there were 6 of us girls all asking questions about tea and holding up the line. how embarrassing! but the staff didn't mind and answered all of our questions and we're really funny! i'll definitely be going back soon. oh, did i mention the tea and the food was really good at the tea bar? you have to go if you're in the area. after we had tea, we walked around soco. oh my goodness, i was in home-goods heaven! it was kind of like walking around ikea, but the really nice version of it. and the much richer version. hah! and i actually bought a few things for when i move out in a few months. score!

we tried to end the night by going to a waffles + beer restaraunt but they didn't really have gluten free waffles. come on people, just because the batter is gluten free does not mean that you can cook it on all of the same stove tops and same waffle presses. it's not gluten free anymore! we did ask two of the servers before sitting down if they were cooked on different iron presses, and they both told us yes. after they took our order, the manager came over and told us that it was cooked on the same press. i don't like to be a pain, but we had already asked three times and no one gave us the correct answer. and we didn't want our friend to have to sit there hungry while we all enjoyed our waffles. so we left and got cheesecake factory instead. happy compromise. i plan on going back to the waffle place, but i really wish more people understood that some people are gluten free because they actually can't have gluten. not because they're trying to be healthier or get skinny. it's frustrating.

besides the waffle dilemma, we had a wonderful saturday. i loved hanging out with all of my girlfriends and am happy we still managed to have a good time despite us not going camping. maybe next year we'll get to go. hopefully!

Sundays are for sister dates. But today we just took photos in our backyard since I had to leave right after we got home from church. We figured out that Natalie sucks at taking jumping photos of other people and that Casey will roll into the wall in the backyard just so she can roll over a bug. We also made fun of how ugly the pants are in the sisterhood of the traveling pants. It's because Blake lively wore them.

sundays are for sister dates (plus friends!) at pieology, visiting our old pastor's new church for their new re-launch, having to go to chipotle since pieology lies about being gluten free, freaking out about the fact that delirium is going to be a tv series (how would they even do that?!), and then napping for as long as you can before you have to study for your cpa exam. again. (it still is no fun.)

dancing in the living room

natalie and i are going to a wedding next weekend. so we need to be prepared in case they play "come on eileen". so we had to practice our dance moves and finalize our choreography. and of course, i had to share it on here. i know, you wish you had been there with us to partake in our dancing in the living room.

sundays are for accidentally missing church since the shower was taken when you wanted to get in, since your sister's alarm didn't go off, and by the time you got out of the door you realized you needed gas. sundays are also for going to bagel me instead and wandering around target looking at justin bieber cds and anything else that catches your eye. this sunday was also for a birthday brunch with good friends and mimosas (yummy!). it was also for catching up on mario party skills and defeating rick in a game. and of course, sunday was for watching the walking dead. always watching the walking dead. amen.

sundays are for mornings at church, del taco lunches with friends, and sister dates at kean coffee. it's also for car rides listening to taylor swift and keith urban (who am i?!?) and naps with my puppy. oh! and for watching the walking dead tonight. thank goodness it's back on. if daryl dies, we riot! am i right?

mumford and sons concert

one thing i do know that i shared on here was that natalie and i were going to go to a mumford and sons concert. and we did and it was wonderful and such a fun night with my sister. we went about a month ago (i never share on here anymore...oops). it was at the hollywood bowl. last time we had been there was with our mom when we saw she & him a few summers ago. concerts at the bowl are really fun and super laid back. all the seats are big long benches (at least that's how they are way in the back haha!). and you can bring in your own drinks (just not in glass bottles). our friend siaira ended up getting a ticket to the concert last minute so we carpooled up with her and her friend last minute. they tried to sit by us but a few songs in the security guards kicked them out of our section because the real seat owners came to claim their seats. oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

siaira told us that once she got booted from her seat, that she got so close to the stage that marcus mumford spit on her face while singing. now, she's probably lying, but she told a lot of people and they all believe her. so we'll believe her on this blog too ;). siaira you are sooo lucky! don't ever wash your face again!

TTI: Cranks

TTI: this is the story of the time natalie and i went to target and got attacked by cranks. so, if you've read the maze runner series, you will know what i'm talking about. i had to go buy another calculator tonight (this is my third one people!) at target. as nat and i were pulling into the parking lot, ALL OF THE LIGHTS WERE OUT. so natalie started freaking out. naturally, i tried to turn off all my car lights to scare her, but they wouldn't turn off so fail. anyways, we pulled into a parking spot and parked. as we were about to get out, natalie started screaming that we couldn't go into target. and then i yelled, "THERE'S CRANKS OUT THERE! WE'RE GOING TO DIE!". so we ran and screamed all the way into target. no joke, a guy with a limp was in front of target walking right towards us and it scared me even more! haha! thankfully, once we were inside all of the lights were on. so we managed to pick up my calculator and take a photo with jeremy renner. well, technically it was just a poster of him as hawkeye. but still. we hung out. so after we saw jeremy and bought the calculator, we ran back to the car. and natalie was still scared of the cranks, so as i turned on my car i screamed at the top of my lungs to freak natalie out. HAHAH i am the meanest sister ever. she was so scared! but she hit me instantly, so i guess we're even. and this was the story of the time i got attacked by cranks. but not really ;)
