started out the new year right

i wanted to start off the new year (it was january 1st!) doing something active and out of the norm. so what better way to do that then to go on a hike with my sister and our friend, siaira? gotta start prepping now for our trip to washington in june!!

we hiked peter's canyon (which is about a 15 minute drive from my house) and managed to make it out of there just in time before they shut the gate and locked our car away for the night. we also survived "death hill" (as we like to call it) which basically goes straight up for what seems like an eternity. we're pro hikers, what can i say? i can't wait until we go back! 

divergent movie casting woes.

so my sister works at an elementary school and gets to fangirl with all the little girls over young adult books. and today, one of the little girls told her that apparently alexander ludwig (he played cato in the hunger games) WANTS to be cast as Four in the divergent movie that's going to be coming out.... i think natalie said that she told the little girl that she would rather die then have that happen? hahahahaha. but seriously. so we searched online to see if there was any truth to the little girls story. and unfortunately, i found this article on IMDB that basically says the little girl was telling the truth. i mean, he might not get it (hopefully he wont get it). but uhm HE BETTER NOT GET IT. four is my absolute favorite book boyfriend. so to think that they might cast Four as alexander... makes me want to throw up. ughhhhhh.

TTI: Cranks

TTI: this is the story of the time natalie and i went to target and got attacked by cranks. so, if you've read the maze runner series, you will know what i'm talking about. i had to go buy another calculator tonight (this is my third one people!) at target. as nat and i were pulling into the parking lot, ALL OF THE LIGHTS WERE OUT. so natalie started freaking out. naturally, i tried to turn off all my car lights to scare her, but they wouldn't turn off so fail. anyways, we pulled into a parking spot and parked. as we were about to get out, natalie started screaming that we couldn't go into target. and then i yelled, "THERE'S CRANKS OUT THERE! WE'RE GOING TO DIE!". so we ran and screamed all the way into target. no joke, a guy with a limp was in front of target walking right towards us and it scared me even more! haha! thankfully, once we were inside all of the lights were on. so we managed to pick up my calculator and take a photo with jeremy renner. well, technically it was just a poster of him as hawkeye. but still. we hung out. so after we saw jeremy and bought the calculator, we ran back to the car. and natalie was still scared of the cranks, so as i turned on my car i screamed at the top of my lungs to freak natalie out. HAHAH i am the meanest sister ever. she was so scared! but she hit me instantly, so i guess we're even. and this was the story of the time i got attacked by cranks. but not really ;)

orange circle

a few weeks ago, a few friends and i went down to the orange circle for a little shopping and lunch. we found a spotted moth there (which i guess has been there for quite some time! i just don't pay attention?) which was fun because i recognized it since they sponsor a lot of bloggers! natalie ended up getting a really cute shirt (which means i get to borrow her really cute shirt) and a sweet vintage suitcase. she loved it!

we had lunch at kimmies, which is always really good and then walked over to the fountain. it's so nice walking around old town orange. i'm looking forward to our next visit back! which hopefully is soon since we only live like 15 minutes away.

and since we were in the area, we had to stop at bookman. we love it there! so many books in one place? oh we could spend all day there! i think if natalie and i could really do anything (as in career-wise) we would do something with books. we'd either be book editors, or publishers, or authors, or own a bookstore. something like that! we love love love books. which reminds me that i really need to start unwholly! just as soon as i finish this present darkness :) which might be a while since it's so long... but i'm a fast reader so we'll see how long it really takes me!

Happy birthday Natalie!

Yesterday was my sister's birthday. She turned 21! I can't believe it! It seems like just yesterday we were sitting in the back of my mom's van playing mimi and the googoo's (remember nat??)

Happy birthday Natalie! I am so happy that God has brought us closer together over the past few years. I'm so glad that we can laugh at double first names (ex: Michael David), the fact that sandy is an alien, and that we both LOVE washington! You are beautiful and I'm so glad you're my sister! I love you!

somehow, natalie and i were the only ones who ended up going to the YWAM base for their worship and prayer morning on thursday. but it was so nice. nice just to spend time with my sister. 

besides the fact that natalie got a little sick (she can't run at all without losing all her electrolytes... so running to get to the house quicker because it was raining was a really bad idea. sorry nat!), we had a reallly good time! after we left the base, we headed to a store that had american foods! we were pretty excited. never has a girl appreciated ranch dressing so much in her life :)

yep, she's adorable. and i'm glad i stole borrowed this dress from her! and yes, you should be jealous of my burn mark and my band-aid. i know you want a matching one, too. don't worry, all you have to do is work at chipotle and you'll get lots of them!

happy late easter! nat and i had a lot of fun hanging out with our family at our grandparent's house. and we definitely looked really cute that day (i stole natalie's dress again :) muahaha ). i hadn't been to sunday morning service in forever, but i finally got to go that morning! it was awesome being with my family and praising God for His Son. dude, it's so sweet that my family is saved. and that they all love jesus. it makes me happy. i really am super blessed to have such a close family. and i'm even more blessed that they all love the Lord. thank you God! :)
