gotta keep going

i'm having a really hard time studying for the CPA exam. i think i cry almost every time i study for it. it's just really hard for me and very time consuming. there are so many other things that i would rather be doing and sometimes i feel so defeated when i keep getting practice questions wrong over and over again. it's hard to keep going. accounting has never come easily to me. i love the numbers part of it and i'm pretty good at memorizing, but sometimes my brain has a hard time wrapping around what the numbers actually mean. for a lot my friends in accounting, it comes really naturally for them. and i can't help but compare myself to them. there's also so much pressure to pass all four parts of the exam and get my CPA as soon as possible. a lot of times it just feels like too much. i know i'm the one who chose to go into this profession. i know that i do like it (sometimes). but i also chose accounting because i had already spent so many years in school that i just needed to choose a major and stick with it. i'm so jealous of anyone out there that knows exactly what they want to do and what they are good at. anyways, i keep trying to remind myself that this is exactly where God wants me to be and that maybe He wants me at MHM to talk to someone about Him or to just show someone at my work who Christ is. which, i am a horrible example of who God is but still, i'm hoping He can use me. and honestly, that's one of the very few things that's really getting me through studying. i'm trying to do it all for His glory. and i'm trying to remember that this will all be worth it. it's not about the money or the title or the status. it's about honoring God and letting Him have His way with me.

last final. ever. happened yesterday.

as of yesterday, i am officially done with college. i took my last final, went to target with nat to buy cheez-its, came home, asked nat to take a few pictures of me, and hopped in the planter... tried not to fall over but did and then celebrated the day by not studying for the cpa exam! it's nice to take a day off from studying (for that exam because believe me i was studying all morning for my final). the night also consisted of me making shrimp and chicken tacos, going on a jog, reading requiem, and a taking a long nap. pretty good day in my book.

study break

my brain hurts. studying for the CPA exam sucks. the few things keeping me distracted sane include:
+ working out (which is going really well for me and my sister, i might add!).
+ watching tv, including: sons of guns, workaholics, say yes to the dress, the walking dead, and any of the apartment/house buying shows my mom has on (my tv show selection is so random! hah!).
+ trying to read books (currently reading requiem and attempting to finish the bell jar. almost done!). i have been missing reading so much lately, but i feel so guilty whenever i do read because i know i should be studying. it sucks!
+ fun run. go download it. you just need to.
+ blogging. not necessarily me posting, but reading other people's posts. it helps me so much to get my mind off of things. what would i do without you, blogging world?
+ free cheesecake cards to cheesecake factory.
+ trying out new recipes (even if i don't end up liking them).
+ making future plans. i'm dreaming of when i'll get to move out in a few months and decorate my own apartment! it's so exciting!
+ car rides with my special someone.
+ & snapchatting friends throughout the day.

and now that i've posted this, i'm back to studying. i know, you're jealous.

studying

studying for the CPA sucks. and i'm literally only four days in. and i hate it so much. so little breaks with casey in the front yard are definitely going to be needed throughout the days ahead. plus, i can feel it getting warmer and that makes me happy. but also, it's going to suck that my spring and summer will consist of studying all the time. ugh. oh well, it will be worth it, right? right.
