Lately.

Here's what's been going on lately:
•Ty came to visit
•Paul visited
•We went to Disneyland with Ty and Paul
•I started school
•I visited my oldest and longest pal, Erynn
•I ran
•I worked out
•I made a million more banana almond smoothies
•I won a poker game
•I drank tea
•I finally went to tranquil tea lounge
•I went on a friend date with Cathee
•I wished it would rain and get cold and stop being so hot around here
•And I did not see lawless yet... That needs to happen today

That's what's been going on over the past few weeks! Perhaps I'll share some photos on here later :) we'll see.

orange circle

a few weeks ago, a few friends and i went down to the orange circle for a little shopping and lunch. we found a spotted moth there (which i guess has been there for quite some time! i just don't pay attention?) which was fun because i recognized it since they sponsor a lot of bloggers! natalie ended up getting a really cute shirt (which means i get to borrow her really cute shirt) and a sweet vintage suitcase. she loved it!

we had lunch at kimmies, which is always really good and then walked over to the fountain. it's so nice walking around old town orange. i'm looking forward to our next visit back! which hopefully is soon since we only live like 15 minutes away.

and since we were in the area, we had to stop at bookman. we love it there! so many books in one place? oh we could spend all day there! i think if natalie and i could really do anything (as in career-wise) we would do something with books. we'd either be book editors, or publishers, or authors, or own a bookstore. something like that! we love love love books. which reminds me that i really need to start unwholly! just as soon as i finish this present darkness :) which might be a while since it's so long... but i'm a fast reader so we'll see how long it really takes me!

running into an old friend

so i've been going on runs lately. and when i say lately, i mean since last tuesday hah! anyways, tonight i went on a run and this truck parks some distance ahead of me. and as i slowly (oh and when i say run i mean more of a jog since i don't go fast at all!) am going past the truck, i notice that the guy getting out is a guy i went to jr. high school with! seriously, when does this happen? so there i am all sweaty and gross and am saying hi to someone i rarely ever see. at least i was working out so it's excusable that i looked disgusting? yeah, we'll excuse my grossness. so yes, i literally ran jogged into an old friend. and now i feel like a grandma because it's 7:30 and i am ready for bed! and i slept in this morning! what is wrong with me? but instead of sleep i will patiently wait for lauren to start live tweeting her re-reading the hunger games. YES! too bad natalie isn't here to read along with me. we always have the best time when we read books out loud together. like when i read the maze runner series out loud. uhm so much scarier that way!

the days after romania

the first few days after i got home from romania looked a lot like this:

natalie and i saw the bourne legacy.

we were very happy to see jeremy. and after that we watched the amazing spiderman and the dark knight. all in one day. but i kind of fell asleep in the dark knight. but it's okay because i had seen it before (and again since then!)

natalie, jessica, and i went to the beach. jessica survived a day on her crazy diet of only eating fruit. and my dad joined us in between two of his jobs to go swimming with us!

i met up with my longtime pal, mary, and we had a good long conversation over panera bread and yogurtland.

and i had to go represent CPSA at the freshmen orientation career fair. good thing my friend amy was there with me!

and now i have a little over a week of summer left before it's time to go back to school. did i mention it's my last year in college? yeah i did. ahhhh crazy!

i cut my hair.

so a few days after i got home from romania i chopped all my hair off. i had been wanting to do it for months but decided i'd wait till after the summer.

and i've cut it again since then! so it's even shorter now. it feels so nice! i think i'll keep it this way for a while. natalie even cut off her hair too on her birthday! we're both donating it to locks of love. which i probably should do soon so i don't have to keep finding my braid in a bag in my top drawer. oh, you didn't want to know that? sorry... just forget i mentioned the braid ;)

from our trip to hawaii last week

Reading: I have been meaning to start Unwholly since that just came out a few days ago, but I started reading Piercing the Darkness last week. So i have to finish that first because once i start a book i have to finish it before i can start on another. I love Frank Peretti's writing. He is absolutely one of my favorite writers. He does a really great job at writing about spiritual warfare. It's always a good reminder to me just how real that stuff is.

Listening to: iron & wine pandora.

Thinking about: how this will be my last year in college. I graduate this spring and I'll be all done with classes in march! That's insane.

Working on: trying to blog more. Natalie keeps encouraging me to write on here more often. I really should!

Watching: how I met your mother. It's so funny! I should have started watching it a long time ago when everyone was telling me how good it was. Oh well, at least I'm enjoying it now :)

Eating: I've been drinking black iced tea non stop lately! Which reminds me that I haven't had one today...

In my bible: I just finished Jeremiah and am about to start Lamentations. I get so excited when I finish a long book in the bible! Like its such a big accomplishment haha.

Happy birthday Natalie!

Yesterday was my sister's birthday. She turned 21! I can't believe it! It seems like just yesterday we were sitting in the back of my mom's van playing mimi and the googoo's (remember nat??)

Happy birthday Natalie! I am so happy that God has brought us closer together over the past few years. I'm so glad that we can laugh at double first names (ex: Michael David), the fact that sandy is an alien, and that we both LOVE washington! You are beautiful and I'm so glad you're my sister! I love you!

Psalm 138:8

Psalm 138:8: "The LORD will accomplish what concerns me;
Your lovingkindness, O LORD, is everlasting;
Do not forsake the works of Your hands."

Just thought I'd share this verse on here. That way I can remember it later :). I love this promise. The Lord will accomplish or perfect or complete that which concerns me. It's good to be reminded that God knows what concerns me and exactly what is going on in my heart. And He promises that He'll handle it and take care of it. Who knows in what ways He'll do that, but He'll work everything out. I know I'm being really vague here but I'll probably just share later what it is exactly that's concerning me.
Okay, time for me to enjoy my last morning here in Oahu. I can't believe the summer is almost over and school will be starting soon! Crazy! But at least this means that fall is coming and hopefully that means it will rain. Boy do I LOVE the rain :)
